With almost a hundred thousand participants and more than three and a half million votes, it was an amazing experience and showed the potential of what this kind of open engagement can accomplish. The online town hall had an great feel and I think that it should have happened some time ago. I hope that it happens many times from now on. Below is the entire video:

According to Fox News,

Documents turned over late Friday show AIG paid $218 million in bonuses last weekend, higher than the $165 million that was previously disclosed, said the office of Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who had issued a subpoena.

I find it hard to believe that a company would first give bonuses to execs that did a poor job, but then lie about the total amount. Trust needs to become a reality for this economy to heal. This just shows that healing is not in the near future. Sadly.

Recovery.gov is a website that lets you, the taxpayer, figure out where the money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is going. There are going to be a few different ways to search for information. The money is being distributed by Federal agencies, and soon you’ll be able to see where it’s going — to which states, to which congressional districts, even to which Federal contractors. As soon as we are able to, we’ll display that information visually in maps, charts, and graphics.
