As many internet marketers know, subscriptions are a great way of making a continuous amount of money. So I thought that Amazon would do the same. I was wrong. In reality with Amazon you can opt out after the free first month. All you have to do is go to ‘Manage Your Amazon Prime Membership‘ in your account page. And click the Do Not Upgrade button and low and behold it will not renew the following month.

For the past week I have been making sure that to watch videos on the Google Webmaster Central Youtube Channel. Mostly Matt’s Grab Bag videos. Matt Cutts takes question from anyone who submits one and answers them on video. I think that this is great for both Google and webmasters because it clears up a lot of confusion on Googles guidelines. Watching the videos has helped me do better seo as well as not care as much about meta tags and focus more on content. I recommend spending some time watching the videos on the Google Webmaster Central Youtube channel.

Google is reported to be in late stage negotiations to buy Twitter, after much talk.

According to TechCrunch, two sources close to the negotiations have confirmed the talks between the companies, but have yet to confirm the price.

The micro-blogging site has reportedly turned down an offer from Facebook for $500 million just a few months ago, so most likely Google’s offer will exceed that.

Twitter is often the subject of rumors. There has been speculation of advertising being put onto the site and Twitter announced paid for business accounts last month, but both these ideas have been widely criticized.

Google likes to purchase social networking sites like YouTube back in 2006.

In my opinion now is the time for Twitter to sell. It is at the top of hype mountain.

Of course, Google has declined to comment.

Early reports made it seem as though the Conficker C worm was a joke. We all knew that it was going to hit on 4/1/2009, but we did know how well it was made.

The Conficker C worm (AKA Conflicker virus) has worked it’s way into VeriSign’s root servers. The worm erased hundreds of thousands of .com and .net registration records.

“We have never seen anything like this before,” said James Bidzos, the Executive Chairman of VeriSign’s Board of Directors and Interim CEO. “We have a number of security measures in place to prevent such a thing, but nothing could have prepared us for what Conficker C has done. We are still investigating the situation and confident that we will be able to eventually re-gain the registration data from our backup data facilities on the Cocos Islands and Tuvalu, but there are a number of preventative measures we must first complete to ensure that information does not get corrupted as well.”

If you think you have lost some of your domains due to the Conficker C worm AKA Conflicker virus attack on VeriSign, click here to contact them.

It really gave me a different outlook on life. I think everyone needs to learn to say YES more. But I also think that there are certain times when you should say NO. All in all I think that the movie was well done.

Here are my 5 best tips for success as an online marketer:

#1. All you need is a favorite niche

Pick a niche that you have great interest in writing about. There are going to be good times and bad times. If it’s not something you are absolutely passionate about, you won’t make it through the bad times.

#2. Embrace the great failures.

You’re going to fail no matter what you do! So get used to it.

Every majorly successful business person has failed numerous times (and continues to fail to this day).

The only thing that differentiates winners from losers is that winners keep on trying.

#3. Never ever stop, Keep at it

We all have bad days, bad weeks, and even bad months.

The most important thing to always remember is to never give up.

Your business is either growing or shrinking.

#4. Surround yourself with success

Get involved with others that have already had great success. Just being around success can make you more confident, which makes you successful.

Don’t do it for the money. It just won’t work in the end.

With great content, money is sure to come.

#5. PPC is your bestfriend

All things considered, PPC is still the easiest way to generate money online and make the switch from working for the man to being self employed.

Payperplay is a new advertising company that is PPP. Meaning you get paid per play of a 5 second audio clip. From what I have read they pay less than 1 cent per play/per unique visitor. If you have not seen their ads on Adsense or Kontera or many other most likely then you are not online much because they are everywhere.

I found it interesting that they commented on a Tech Crunch saying that they were getting a grip of sign ups cause of the free advertising.

This is how I see it. Yes they will get many new partners but the day the publisher puts the code on their site they will take it off cause who wants to hear an ad over their music. Plus if their speakers are turned up it will scrare the crap out of site visitors. I think that it is a good concept but it just won’t last.

Ok all of you AdSense users. G is making changes to text ads so that instead of getting clicks when people click anywhere on an ad unit (including the background of ads) you will only get paid when there is a click on an actual title or URL in the ad. Here is a picture showing the new clickable zones:

Google’s Reasoning:

We’re rolling out a change to our text ad formats to help reduce accidental clicks and increase value for advertisers…..This new format will match the changes we’ve implemented on Google.com to help decrease the number of accidental clicks and increase the number of ad conversions. A reduction in accidental clicks will keep users on your pages, interacting with your content until they choose to click on an ad. This change will enhance the user’s overall experience with your website and improve advertiser campaign value, but it’s likely that your click-through rate will decrease.

This new change is going to make many Adsense publishers irritated. The reason, many of the clicks are acidental. Adsense advertisers are happy because that means they are not losing money. The thing about Google is they are not afraid to lose publishers because they have a huge publisher base.
