I am now slightly excited about e-book readers. Today Qualcomm announced that they have produced an e-book reader with a 5.7-inch color panel running at XGA 1,024 x 768 resolution and around 220ppi. Especially because I really enjoy ready magazines and currently the Amazon Kindle is horrible for reading magazines. I look forward to seeing color e-book readers in the near future.

If you have not seen the new appearance add-on for Firefox called Personas you are missing out. Before personas, I couldn’t find a Firefox theme that actually looked good as well as kept the appearance of Firefox. Funny as it is, having a fresh look to firefox makes me want to get more work done. Personas is run by Mozilla (Firefox’s owner) so there were corners cut while making the add-on. You can even make your own “skin”. Be sure to check out the Golden Gate Bridge theme.

SO I thought that I would check it out. I was pleasently suprised. The way that it displays search results is exceptional. From my findings it utilizes flash, but it is not slow like I thought it would be. Sure it does take slightly longer than Google or Yahoo, but users get to preview the webpages making it an excellent choice.

To start with, the install time was a cool 18 minutes. About a third the time that Windows Vista took to install. As well the start up time seems faster. Below are some screenshots of Microsoft’s newest OS. What do you think of it?
